Sunday, May 8, 2016

The Lake Forest Park City Council is accepting applications and letters of interest for a council vacancy.

All applicants must complete an application, submit a letter of interest, and a current resume to be considered for the vacant position.

Interviews with interested applicants are tentatively scheduled for a Special City Council meeting during the weeks of June 6 or June 13. If a selection is made, the appointment to office would be effective at the next regular meeting, but in no case later than July 14, 2016.

An eligible applicant must be a registered voter in Lake Forest Park at the time of application and have resided within the Lake Forest Park city limits for at least one year. The appointee will serve until the position is filled by election in November 2017.

The City Council meets regularly on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. City Councilmembers often have committee meetings and other time obligations in addition to the City Council meetings. Lake Forest Park Council members typically spend 10-15 hours weekly fulfilling the duties of office.

You can download the application form here.

Applications are also available at the Lake Forest Park City Hall located: 17425 Ballinger Way NE, Lake Forest Park, 98155, or by calling 206-368-5440.
