Dancing round the indoor May Pole

Text and photos by Martin Kral

Despite Saturday's gray skies and steady sprinkle, those spring showers did not dampen the mood of Kenmore's Maifest celebrants.

The band played traditional music for dancing

The Austria Club of Washington's traditional dance around the may pole took place indoors with the music of Happy Hans and participatory dancing lead by members of the Enzian Schuhplattler.

Families keeping traditions alive

The Kenmore Community Hall hosted nearly 100 guests who enjoyed a potluck buffet featuring the superb Weißwurst and Leberkäse from Pannonia Smokehouse in Shoreline's North City.

Plan on coming next May and make it a tradition to join the revelry in Kenmore.
