Saturday, April 9, Shorecrest Band, in cooperation with Goodwill Industries, held a recycling fundraiser in the Shorecrest student parking lot.

Goodwill delivered two trailers and an assortment of storage bins to the south lot and student band members manned the trailers from 10am until 2pm collecting used but in good condition furniture, appliances, clothing and electronics.

By 12:30pm students had a good sized collection of assorted furniture and electronics ready for loading into the trailers.

Band director Vince Caruso reports that the event was successful - they filled the van and more.

"I'm sure we will continue to host these events next year as well - usually one in the fall and one in the spring."

Goodwill pays up to $500 for a full 24 foot box truck. This money will help the Shorecrest Band go to the parade in Victoria – and the donations help Goodwill provide free education to over 8500 people in Western Washington.
