Letter to the Editor: An act of kindness

To the Editor:

Last week, I took my Aunt to Spirit Nails, at 18820 Aurora Ave N, Suite 103, Shoreline, WA 98133.

During our visit, it began to rain. When we were getting ourselves together to leave, they asked if we drove or took the bus. I told them that we took the bus. They offered us an umbrella to take with us. I told them that we would be fine. The owner then proceeded to get her jacket on and held the umbrella over us, while we walked the ten blocks to get to our next stop.

I have been taking my Aunt to Spirit Nails for several months, since it is the only salon I found that would do a pedicure for my Aunt, who is wheelchair bound. They lovingly work on both her feet and hands and do a fantastic job on her nails, at a reasonable price. As we walked in the rain together, I was so moved by this act of kindness. This act went beyond the service that they offer and exemplifies to me the true quality of care that they provide.

May we all remember the moments that are available to us to do similar acts of kindness, which make this community a great place to live in.
