Last Man #1:  The Stranger
by Bastien Vivès, Michaël Sanlaville, Balak

The Tournament has already begun, and Adrian's partner already eliminated, when Richard Aldana comes into town. Why would the older man, an adept fighter (but not a magician) team up with a little boy? Why does he need to win this tournament? And what is his history with some of the other fighters?

Volume 1 doesn't answer any of those questions, but it does implant a desire to learn the answers. This is an awesome new graphic novel series in the French/Manga style: a fast moving story set in alternate-history medieval France, with magic and karate. Volume 2 will be released in July, and I will be waiting.

No cussing, no sex. Some romantic themes and drinking (adult characters), fighting action, comedy, and magic.

The events may not have happened; still, the story is true.  --R. Silvern
