Public Hearing on Lyon Creek Flood Reduction Proposal scheduled for Tuesday Oct 28

Residents and others interested in the Lyon Creek Flood Reduction proposal are invited to attend a public hearing before the City’s Hearing Examiner on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, 6:00pm, in the Lake Forest Park City Hall Council Chambers, 17425 Ballinger Way NE.

The proposal is primarily a stream corridor improvement for Lyon Creek that begins at the new Whispering Willow Park and ends at the Lyon Creek Waterfront Park. The intent of the project is to reduce flooding in the vicinity of City Hall, the Town Center shopping center, the Northshore Fire District Station located in Lake Forest Park, several single-family homes, and two major regional arterials: Bothell Way NE (SR 522) and Ballinger Way NE (SR 104). Significant amounts of wetland and stream restoration and enhancement are also included in the proposal.

At this time, the Planning Department is recommending approval of the proposed project. Comments are welcome and must be received by 4:00pm on Monday, October 27, 2014. Written comments can be mailed or hand delivered to the City of Lake Forest Park Planning Department, 17425 Ballinger Way NE, Lake Forest Park, 98155. Comments may also be submitted via email.
