The Gallery at Town Center is pleased to welcome two new artists on show through October 5th. The Gallery at Town Center features the work of over 90 local artists, see these works Tuesday - Saturday, Noon-5pm or Sunday 11am-4pm.

James Delbert Anderson in his own words:

“Washington State’s abundance of natural beauty has always inspired me artistically. Even as a five-year-old, I filled up my folder with paintings of flowers and trees. An inexpensive point-and-shoot camera was my first introduction to photography, and I gleefully filled it with images of mountains, waterfalls, and flower gardens. Compact digital cameras followed, and ultimately a digital SLR camera. Today, I still explore Washington’s natural places with a camera in hand, seeking unique and artistic ways of presenting them through photography.

"My subjects are still natural features, such as wildflowers, mountain landscapes, sunrises, sunsets, forests, and waterfalls. I vary technique and perspective according to the situation. For instance, I might get very close to a wildflower and make it the sole subject of a portrait; other times, I might zoom out and try to capture the full sweep of a mountain scene. Still other times, I combine these approaches, focusing on a specific subject but including some discernible contextual feature in the background. In all cases, I use physical perspectives and subject placement to focus attention on specific aspects of the scene, desiring to communicate a feeling of intimacy with the scene, and to inspire the same feelings of beauty and awe that I experienced.

"Through photography, I aspire to bring viewers into a closer connection with the natural world around them, inspiring them to see its beauty in new and exciting ways.”

Nancy E. Bishop-Harvey in her own words:

“Dogs and Cats. They are everywhere. These fond creatures give us wonderful companionship, hours of entertainment, and love. It is my aim to capture the essence of their spirit in 2D. For this exhibit, here at the Gallery at Town Center, I bring to you a series of unique furry friends. While I also create social commentary, linocuts, oil paintings, graphic design, etc., it is within the pet portraits that I find true joy.”
