CanYouID.me celebrates third year of locating suspects and persons of interest in crimes

Saturday, July 20, 2013

CanYouID.me is celebrating its 3 year anniversary. Since the website was created in July of 2010, 63 subjects have been identified. There currently have 56 police departments and 197 Washington State investigators signed up on the website.

The intent of this program is to provide one location where Washington State Detectives can post photographs of unknown subjects that could be seen by the public. In addition, the public can submit names of those persons depicted directly to the detective posting that photograph.

CanYouID.me started out in 2010 with an average of 1,112 visits and 4,401 page views per month to the website. As of the first 6 months of 2013, we have had an average of 4,708 visits and 32,631 page views per month.

CanYouID.me would like to thank the public and law enforcement agencies for taking the time to view our website and submit names to our investigators. Your information has helped solve numerous crimes that might have not been solved without your assistance. Please continue to view the website and make if even more successful.

The site was created and is maintained by Lake Forest Park Police Detective Tony Matthews.
