Shorecrest girls picked for second in Wesco 3A basketball with Shorewood sixth

Wesco 3A girls’ basketball coaches have picked Shorecrest to finish second in the division behind Glacier Peak, with Shorewood picked for sixth. 

Division coaches in late November picked Glacier Peak for first, with Shorecrest second, Lynnwood third, Meadowdale fourth, Everett fifth, Shorewood sixth, Mountlake Terrace seventh, Oak Harbor eighth and Marysville-Getchell ninth. The top six teams in the division qualify for the Northwest District 3A tournament.
The Shorecrest girls took an undefeated record into a Thursday home game with Meadowdale after a 48-19 victory over Marysville-Getchell Tuesday.
Shorecrest took a 4-0 Wesco 3A record (7-0 overall) into the game with Meadowdale. 

In Shorecrest’s 48-19 victory over Marysville-Getchell, the Scots led 14-1 after the first quarter, 36-6 at halftime and 42-11 after three quarters before coasting through the final period. Senior Janie Uppinghouse led Shorecrest with 13 points followed by fellow senior India Matheson with 12. The Shorecrest junior varsity defeated Marysville-Getchell, 38-34. 

For the season, senior Bri Lasconia led the Scots with 92 points in seven games for an average of 13.6 points per game.
