Bastyr University is hosting a concert by internationally acclaimed pianist and organist Burkard Schliessmann on Sunday, October 16 at 4 pm in the University's chapel, presented by Rodgers Instruments.

In addition to enjoying world-class organ music in the acoustically renowned Bastyr University chapel, the purpose of this concert is to raise money for the University to purchase its own organ, which the chapel was designed to accommodate.

"We are delighted and feel fortunate to have the rare opportunity of hearing Burkard Schliessmann play live on our campus," said Bastyr University President Daniel K. Church, PhD. "We are looking forward to witnessing his mastery of the literature and are confident that once the audience experiences his incredible sound, they will agree the chapel needs a permanent organ so the community can enjoy beautiful organ music all the time."
