Shorecrest opens State soccer playoffs at Camas Tuesday after second-place finish in Northwest District tournament

The Shorecrest soccer team takes a 17-2 record into the State 3A playoffs against Camas at the Southwest Washington school at 7 p.m. Tuesday after losing a shootout in the District championship game against Glacier Peak, giving the Scots a second-place finish in the Northwest District 3A tournament

The winner of the Shorecrest-Camas game will play Saturday, May 21, against the winner of a game between Sammamish and Kennedy, with the winner of the Saturday game advancing to the semifinals and finals May 27-28.

The Scots qualified for the State tournament as the No. 2 team from the Northwest District after losing the District championship game to Glacier Peak 2-1, in a shootout Thursday, May 12, at Edmonds Stadium.

Shorewood missed a berth in the State tournament when the Thunderbirds lost the District-tournament third-place game to Mount Vernon, 3-2, also May 12 at Edmonds Stadium.

Shorecrest had reached the District championship game by defeating Mount Vernon, 3-1, in a May 10 home semifinal game.

Shorewood fell into the third-place game when the T-birds lost to Glacier Peak, 2-1, May 10 at Glacier Peak.
