Preservation Hall Jazz Band
Treat yourself to a New Orleans holiday tradition in Edmonds, as Preservation Hall Jazz Band brings their “Creole Christmas” show to Edmonds Center for the Arts on Thursday December 2 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $15-$35 and are available online or by phone (425) 275-9595. The Center is located at 410 Fourth Ave N in Edmonds 98020.

Located in the heart of New Orleans’ French Quarter, Preservation Hall was founded in 1961 by Allan and Sandra Jaffe as a sanctuary to protect and honor New Orleans Jazz, which had lost much of its popularity to modern jazz and rock n roll. The Jaffes wanted a place where New Orleans musicians could play New Orleans Jazz, a style they believed should not disappear. Preservation Hall Jazz Band began touring in 1963 and for many years there were several bands successfully touring under the name Preservation Hall. Boasting a direct lineage from the earliest incarnations of New Orleans jazz, the current roster of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band features some of the greatest and most historic musicians touring the globe today. These unforgettable, multi-generational players proudly carry on the traditions passed forward from the most prolific jazz heritage on earth. An annual must-see production for New Orleans families since 2005, Preservation Hall Jazz Band began taking their holiday-themed “Creole Christmas” on the road in 2009 and includes season favorites like “Blue Christmas,” “Swinging In A Winter Wonderland,” “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,” and “The Dreidel Song,” just to name a few.”

Edmonds Center for the Arts is located in picturesque downtown Edmonds, Washington. Housed in the historic original Edmonds High School building, ECA was remodeled and opened in October 2006 to be a cultural resource for the Puget Sound region through performing arts presentations, community partnerships and education outreach programs.
